Serian

Serian district is 65km from Kuching town or Capital of Sarawak and the coordinates: 1°10'14"N 110°34'20"E . Serian is a small town which is a place for local or tourist before they start their journey to other places in Sarawak, Kalimantan (Indonesia), Negara Brunei Darussalam and to Sabah, Malaysia. There is some interested places has been found in Serian and one of the most popular is normally known as Ranchan Pool and it is about 10 minutes driving from Serian town and there is Taman Danau Serian or Serian Lake Garden. Serian town also a door for in and out to our neighboring country trough Tebedu Checkpoint and it takes 30 minutes driving from Serian Town. The nearest Indonesian Town to Tebedu checkpoint is Entekong. Serian is very popular with their giant fruit or normally known as `Bandar Buah Durian’ or King of durian fruits town. Serian majority is a Bidayuh Sadong and follow by other ethic such as Chinese, Iban, Malay or other ethic. Nowadays, Serian is more popular with agriculture such as Palm Oil Plantation, Fresh water fish and Poultry Farming and there is no other industry in this place. All the local young people are move or working in oversea such Singapore, Arab Emirates, Brunei and Peninsular Malaysia.
